This guide will show you what to write and what not to write an episode article. It’s so important for improvement, to collect all factual information and to keep neutrality balance well.
- All episodes articles must be written well and readable.
- Character neutrality is the bold key. That means no pro or anti bias in any article.
- An episode article is required to follow in order: a) its episode infobox template, b) a little detail about the episode, c) its plot summary, d) its full synopsis, e) the casts list, f) featured songs, g) memorable quotes if any, h) Trivia if any, i) Title Reference, j) its photo gallery, k) references and l) lastly, its navigational gallery.
- At beginning of the episode article, any editor must not write an open spoiler. Please be sure to put spoilers in a proper section.
- Please be sure that every article has its Reference section and the Reflist code. The section is strictly required for evidences and sources only.
Episode Infobox Template[]
This, for explain, character infobox template will results . . . {{Infobox_episode |name= |season= |episode= |series= |image= |airdate= |writer= |viewer= |director= |previous= |next=}} |
. . . to this template.
|
NOTED: Please be sure you link existing episode pages and an episode's title name for previous and next episodes in the template.
Basic Episode Information[]
A little detail about the episode and, who wrote and who did direct the story. No open spoilers at the beginning, please. The 'title reference' must be noted in the section named "Title Reference" whose requires few HTML codes and its new section with its Reflist's "references group='title'/". Here's how to do form the note code, see "Title Reference Example" below.
Explain: "This is Not a Pipe"[title 1] is the first episode of Season One of ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. It was written by Lizzy Weiss and directed by Steve Miner. It is the first episode of the series overall, and premiered on June 6th, 2011.
The title reference code will look like this:
"This is Not a Pipe"<ref group=title>1.1928-29 painting, '''The Treachery of Images''', by René Magritte, which has the caption, ''"Ceci n'est pas une pipe"'', meaning ''"This is not a pipe,"'' in French.</ref>
You also can add a few or more notes in the note reference after the title source.
Explain:
"This is Not a Pipe"<ref group=title>1.1928-29 painting, '''The Treachery of Images''', by René Magritte, which has the caption, ''"Ceci n'est pas une pipe"'', meaning ''"This is not a pipe,"'' in French. *Bay refers to the picture and its meaning when she meets Ty, telling him that things aren't always what they look like. (It may look like a pipe, but its actually a ''picture ''of a pipe.)</ref>
Plot[]
This episode provides brief summary about what happened during the episode from the ABC Family's official description with the link. It have to be on the right align.
<u>Explain:</u> Daphne and Bay met at first time, but will they get along? How will their families work out? They struggles to get know about each other since the switch was discovered.
— ABC Family's Official Summary
Recap[]
This section must be written in a full story rather than short summary. Yes, you can add official images but please be sure it's not too large. (250px is recommended.)
Explain:
Bay Kennish discovers during a biology class that she has an extremely rare blood type (AB) which is different from her parents. Intrigued by her new discovery, Bay convinces her parents, Kathryn and John, to visit a genetic testing facility where it’s confirmed that Bay is not their biological daughter, The hospital finds out that the babes of two families were switched at birth.

The episode comes to a close. Bay begins to wonder about her biological father; Regina and Kathryn have a firm and cool conversation; Emmett shows up on his motorbike and departs with Daphne.
The Cast[]
This section requires all of those who play characters if they only appear in an episode. If any character is mentioned, please add it to the Trivia section, and not here. Also, this requires three HTML codes: Col-begin, Col-break and Col-end. Those codes will help to break into two columns to avoid the too-long list.
That will result into...
{{Col-begin}} {{Col-break}} ===Main=== *Actor as Character *Actress as Character *Actor as Character *Actress as Character *Actor as Character *Actress as Character {{Col-break}} ===Recurring=== *Actor as Character *Actress as Character *Actor as Character *Actress as Character *Actor as Character {{Col-break}} ===Guest=== *Actor as Character *Actress as Character *Actress as Character {{Col-end}}
... what it should look like:
Main[] |
Recurring[]
Guest[]
|
Music Featured[]
This section constrains songs if an episode did feature any of those. It must be counted all of those songs. You can copy this HTML code for the episode's music featured section.
Explain:
Song | Artist | Notes | Link |
---|---|---|---|
Song Title | Singer's/Band's Name | Where it did starts at... | Source of the existing song. (Required a URL link.) |
Jumping Trains[2] | Katie Herzig | Bay and her mother are in vehicle driving. | YouTube |
Copy it here and paste it on any of those episode pages.
{| border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" class="article-table" style="width: 100%;" |- ! scope="col"|Song ! scope="col"|Artist ! scope="col"|Notes ! scope="col"|Link |- | | | | |- | | | | |- |}
Quotes[]
Basically, any episode should add most memorable quotes those are from characters. Use "{ Dialogues }" and "{ Dialogues2 }" for any conservation between or among those Switched at Birth characters.
Explain:
{{Dialogues|'''Regina to Kathryn (about Daphne):''' "''No matter how loud you yell, she still can't hear you''."}}{{Dialogues2|'''Emmett:''' "''If this never happened, you wouldn't be deaf''."||'''Daphne:''' ''"Me, but hearing? Weird."''}}{{Dialogues|'''Bay:''' "''I can't believe I'm part Puerto Rican. I've been taking French for nine years''."}}
These, above, will result into:
Regina to Kathryn (about Daphne): "No matter how loud you yell, she still can't hear you." |
Emmett: "If this never happened, you wouldn't be deaf." |
Bay: "I can't believe I'm part Puerto Rican. I've been taking French for nine years." |
Trivia[]
This section contains worthy facts about the character. If any episode mentions a trivial note, please add to this list. But, please do not forget to add a source to support the trivial notes.
Explain:
Although they were never on the show at the same time [[Vanessa Marano]] and [[Blair Redford]] played Step Aunt and Nephew, Eden Gerick and Scott 'Scotty' Grainger Jr. on hit CBS Daytime Soap Opera, The Young and the Restless.
Gallery[]
This section is pretty self-explanation. Any editor can just insert images here, but a kind of HTML code is must. This will need two codes, "< gallery >" and "</ gallery >", in this section to make it function well.
Explain:
<gallery> File:imagetitle.gif File:imagetile2.png File:imagetitle3.jpeg </gallery>
This will result into...
[]
This section requires the season's episodes gallery that allows any visitors to search or read through any of those episodes.
This code will result into...
{{Episodes}}
...here.

Title Reference Example[]
The episode article must have its own section named Title Reference that requires something like this:
==Title Reference== <references group="title"/>
That will result what it should look like:
- ↑ 1.1928-29 painting, The Treachery of Images, by René Magritte, which has the caption, "Ceci n'est pas une pipe", meaning "This is not a pipe," in French.
- Bay refers to the picture and its meaning when she meets Ty, telling him that things aren't always what they look like. (It may look like a pipe, but its actually a picture of a pipe.)
References Example[]
This section is very important for evidences and sources that any editor must give a fact to support what sentences claim. For the start, editors will need two HTML codes, “< ref >” and “</ ref >”, to make an actual reference.
Explain:
This code
{{Reflist}}
and this source:
“A cat can survive falls 19 stories higher.<ref>Daniel Nasaw (March 12, 2012). [http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-17492802 Who, What, Why: How do cats survive falls from great heights?] BCC News Magazine.”</ref>
Those will result into. . .
A cat can survive falls 19 stories higher.[3]
Note the HTTP link, see above? An URL link will lead someone to any actual website where it holds any factual information. Editors will need to put a URL link in between “[” and “]” to make it clickable, however anyone can add a title name right next to the URL link. (See the preview above for the same explain, and see below to find the "References Example" section.)
ATTENTION: Importantly, please be sure you give a proper source, which follows by a) who wrote, b) when it was published, c) what title name was, and d) where it was published. See the same explain above.
