"Game On"[title 1] is the twentieth episode of ABC Family's Switched at Birth Season One and the series overall. It was written by Lizzy Weiss and Becky Hartman, and it was directed by Ron Lagomarsino. It was originally aired on March 6th, 2012.
Plot[]
Daphne leads the Carlton girls basketball team against Simone and her former Buckner teammates in a big invitational tournament with big stakes on the line. Daphne really feels the pressure to win for Carlton and John, but she finds empowerment when the deaf community shows its presence at the tournament and supports her.
Meanwhile, Kathryn meets with a potential book publisher, who tells her the book will only work if she gets Regina on board to co-write it. At the game, Regina’s new boyfriend Patrick surprises Regina by showing up. When Simone fouls Daphne in the last minute of the game, Daphne scores the winning shot, and Carlton wins.
Bay finds herself in another difficult situation when Melody asks her to testify against Emmett’s dad so that she can gain full custody. The situation escalates when Bay and Toby discover that Cameron’s new girlfriend is a pot dealer. After talking with Bay, Cameron decides that Emmett is better off with Melody. But when Emmett learns of Bay's involvement in the situation, he is livid, and they fight.
Still fuming, Emmett bumps into a lonely Simone in the hallway of their hotel, and they end up spending a passionate night together.

After hearing that the last team Carlton played against is disqualified, Daphne is excited that the Mustangs will now participate in the Springfield Tournament. However, there is a catch; their first opponent is Buckner Hall. Bay is caught in Emmett's custody battle when Melody asks her to testify. The situation intensifies after Bay and Toby discover a stash of weed in the Bledsoe garage belonging to Cameron's girlfriend Olivia.
In the end, Carlton wins the competition, but the team is still going to get cut due to financial reasons. When Bay confesses to Cameron about Olivia's weed and saying how Emmett's best choice should be important, he tells Emmett he is going to give Melody full custody. Emmett gets furious and upset with everything in his hotel room bangs his fist on the wall bruising it. Emmett confronts Bay about what she did in a phone call and Bay insists she only did what she did to protect him, but the phone call gets disconnected. While icing the bruise, Emmett runs into Simone, who offers to bandage his wrist for him. They wind up sleeping together in Simone's hotel room.
Back in Mission Hills, Bay tells Toby she doesn't think Emmett will ever talk to her again because of what she did. but Toby assures her that she and Emmett are perfect for each other, and will get through this. Neither of them know about the tryst between their partners.
