It is revealed in Between Hope and Fear (4x13) that Emmett and Skye became a couple some time after Emmett’s break up with Bay, which made Travis upset because he thinks she changed Emmett. Travis believes that Skye make decisions for Emmett such as what he wears and where he goes, he even refers to her turning Emmett into a “hipster Ken doll”.
In The Call (5x01), Emmett O.D’s and is admitted to hospital where he escapes and goes missing. Bay calls Skye on Emmett’s phone and finds out that they broke up 2 months prior due to Emmett becoming depressed when his film is rejected by many festivals.
